Overview

WEBCHKR, operated by Sonoran Strategy Solutions, LLC ("we", "us", "our"), is a website checker tool at webchkr.com. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use WEBCHKR, you enter a domain name to check. We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the tool.

Domains You Check

We log each scan to a Cloudflare D1 database. The log includes: a random ID that links the steps of one scan; the domain name submitted; the date and time the check started and finished, and how long it took; your browser's user-agent string (the standard text every browser sends, which names the browser and its version, your operating system, and sometimes your device model); the domain name of the website that linked you to WEBCHKR, if any (only its domain name, never the address of the page); and high-level result metadata — the HTTP status of the target site, whether bot protection was detected and by which service, and the count of passing, failing, warning, and informational checks. If one of our checks fails during a scan, we also log which check it was, its HTTP status, and its error message. This data is used for usage monitoring and service improvement. We do not log your IP address, and we do not connect this data to individual users or personal information.

If you answer “Was this check helpful?” after a scan, we store your rating (yes or no), the time you gave it, and any comment you choose to add, with that scan’s log entry. Comments are optional and limited to 500 characters. Please don’t include personal information in a comment. We also send PostHog a few events about it, each with the scan’s random ID: your rating, the length of any comment, whether you closed the question without answering, and whether you clicked the link to Sonoran Strategy. The text of your comment is never sent to PostHog: the comment box is left out of session recordings.

When you submit a domain, our servers make requests to that domain to analyze its publicly available configuration. This includes checking DNS records, fetching the homepage HTML, and querying public APIs like Google PageSpeed Insights. We do not store the content of the websites you check, only the high-level result counts described above.

Automatically Collected Information

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and analytics tools process standard web traffic data including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and referring websites. We use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4), and PostHog to understand how people use the tool so we can improve it. GA4 does not log or store full IP addresses. PostHog stores your IP address with the activity it records and uses it to estimate your approximate location.

PostHog makes session recordings: replays of how you used the site, showing where you moved, clicked and scrolled and what each page displayed, including the domain you checked and its results. Text you type into fields is masked in recordings. PostHog also records how fast pages load and any errors in our code.

We use cookies and similar technologies through our analytics tools. These help us understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data Retention

Scan logs (the domain, timestamps, user-agent string, referring website's domain name, result counts, check errors, and any rating or comment you leave, as described above) are retained for usage monitoring purposes. We do not store the content of the websites checked. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics providers' standard retention periods. PostHog session recordings are kept for 30 days.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since we collect minimal personal data and do not require accounts, there is typically no personal data to manage. If you have questions, contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

WEBCHKR is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
