What Is WEBCHKR?
WEBCHKR is a free website checker. Enter a domain and it runs 30 checks on the technical fundamentals behind your website and digital marketing: site health, search optimization, AI readiness, email authentication, security, analytics tracking, performance, and accessibility. Think of it as a quick diagnostic to catch the things that are easy to overlook and easy to fix once you know about them.
A website audit (also called a site audit or technical SEO audit) is a review of how a site is set up rather than what it says: whether it loads securely, whether search engines and AI tools can crawl and understand it, whether its email domain is protected, and whether its tracking and performance are in order. WEBCHKR runs the automated part of that audit for you in about 30 seconds; if you would rather do it by hand, the website audit checklist walks through every step.
One Free Website Checker Instead of Five
Most free website checkers look at one layer. An SEO checker reads your title tags but not your DNS. A DMARC checker reads your DNS but not your pages. Security header scanners, PageSpeed, and AI-readiness tools each cover one more slice. WEBCHKR checks all of them in one pass: the page itself, the DNS records behind your email, the HTTP headers your server sends, your robots.txt, sitemap, and llms.txt, and Google's PageSpeed Insights data.
Each check goes further than a yes or no. HTTPS is tested on all four versions of your address, with and without www, over http and https. DKIM is looked up against more than 70 selectors used by providers like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Mailchimp. Analytics detection covers 18+ platforms, not only Google. And when a site's bot protection blocks the scan, or its SEO tags are injected by JavaScript, WEBCHKR tells you so instead of reporting a false failure.
What a Website Audit Checks
WEBCHKR's 30 checks fall into eight groups. Each result explains what was found, whether it needs fixing, and why it matters, and checks that need attention link to a step-by-step fix guide.
- Site basics — HTTP status, SSL/HTTPS on all four URL variants, mobile viewport, and 404 handling. These confirm your site is reachable, secure, and returns the right answers to visitors and crawlers.
- Search optimization — title tags, meta descriptions, H1 headings, canonical tags (with staging-domain detection), Open Graph, crawling and indexing (robots.txt and noindex), XML sitemap validation, and structured data with field-level analysis.
- AI readiness — llms.txt, which AI crawlers your robots.txt allows or blocks, and answerability signals such as FAQ markup and question-style headings.
- Email authentication — SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, which decide whether your email reaches the inbox and whether others can send mail that looks like it came from your domain.
- Security — HTTPS enforcement, security headers (with CSP and Permissions-Policy analysis), mixed content, and privacy compliance, including a scan of your privacy policy page.
- Analytics — 18+ analytics platforms, tag management systems, Google Search Console verification, and advertising pixels, with flags for duplicate tracking and deprecated code.
- Performance — Core Web Vitals, performance score, loading speed, and image performance (lazy loading, dimensions, modern formats).
- Accessibility — language attribute, image alt text, semantic landmarks, and the Lighthouse accessibility score.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a website audit?
A website audit is a review of the technical setup behind a site: whether it loads securely on every version of its address, whether search engines and AI tools can crawl and understand it, whether its email domain is protected by SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, whether analytics and security headers are in place, and how fast it loads. Done by hand, it means checking each of these with a different tool; our website audit checklist walks through it. WEBCHKR automates 30 of the most common checks in about 30 seconds. Run one after any redesign, migration, or change of email provider, and at least once a quarter otherwise.
What checks are included?
WEBCHKR runs 30 checks across 8 categories: site basics, search optimization, AI readiness, email authentication, security, analytics, performance, and accessibility. What a website audit checks, above, lists what each category covers.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no usage limits, no premium tier. The tool works the same for everyone.
Can I check any website?
Any publicly accessible website. It does not matter what platform, CMS, or hosting provider the site uses.
Why are some results incomplete?
Some sites use bot protection (Cloudflare, Akamai, Imperva, and similar services) that blocks automated scanners. When this happens, WEBCHKR shows a warning banner. DNS and security checks still run since they don't depend on page content. Additionally, some sites built with JavaScript frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt, etc.) render their SEO tags client-side only. WEBCHKR detects this and shows a banner explaining that missing tags may be injected by JavaScript rather than truly absent — though this is itself an SEO concern worth addressing.
How accurate are the email authentication checks?
WEBCHKR checks your SPF and DMARC records directly via DNS, which is reliable. For DKIM, it scans common selectors used by major email providers like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, SendGrid, Mailchimp, and HubSpot. If your provider uses a custom or uncommon selector, WEBCHKR may not detect it. A “not found” DKIM result does not always mean DKIM is missing. If you believe DKIM is configured, check with your email provider to confirm which selector they use.
Is this an AEO or GEO audit?
No. WEBCHKR checks a handful of AI-readiness signals, but it is not a full AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) or GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) audit. The signals we look at include LLMs.txt presence, AI crawler access (whether tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can fetch your site), and basic answerability markers like FAQ schema and question-style headings. These are foundational signals, useful as a starting point. They don't tell you how well your content actually performs in AI answers, what topics you're cited for, or how to structure content for LLMs. For deeper AEO work, you'll want dedicated tools or a content review by someone experienced in this area.
Is this an accessibility audit?
No. WEBCHKR checks a few basic accessibility indicators like language attributes, image alt text, and Lighthouse scores, but a proper accessibility audit requires hands-on evaluation by someone experienced in WCAG standards. Automated tools catch surface-level issues but cannot evaluate the full experience for people using assistive technologies. Accessibility matters beyond compliance. It improves usability for everyone, and sites with strong accessibility practices tend to have cleaner, more semantic code that performs better in search. If you have any questions about your site's accessibility, we strongly encourage working with a qualified accessibility specialist.
How often should I run these checks?
After any significant site change, when you add new tools or services, or quarterly as a baseline. Technical configurations can break silently, and a quick check catches issues before they affect your traffic or email deliverability.
What should I do with my results?
WEBCHKR is a starting point. It identifies what's missing or misconfigured, and checks that need attention link to a step-by-step fix guide, but each issue is worth investigating further in the context of your specific setup. If you want help interpreting your results or fixing what's broken, the team behind WEBCHKR offers a free consultation. Email [email protected] and we'll walk through your report together.
